Dialogue Groups
The Social Issues Roundtable Luncheon Series
The Social Issues Roundtable Luncheon Series engages multiple constituencies of the Princeton University community in dialogue about issues related to social inequality and justice. The Jose Marti Lounge at the Fields Center is an intimate living room setting, which provides a wonderful space for faculty, students, administrators, staff and community members to explore topic areas rarely addressed in the classroom. This monthly series highlights the scholarly work of Princeton faculty as well as scholars and activists from surrounding communities. Discussions are very interactive and allow all to be involved.
Telling Our Story?
We all have a story to tell. Please share yours with us. Several members of our community will be highlighted on the Fields Center website each month. Please submit your suggested articles and photos to caf@princeton.edu.
Sustained Dialogue
Sustained Dialogue began at Princeton in 1999 and aims to create an open and healthy campus climate by convening small-group discussions on topics such as race relations. The Fields Center advises Sustained Dialogue, provides office space for the program and also hosts a group whose discussions are focused on the intersection of race and class.
Dialogue Group
The Fields Center, in conjunction with the student-led Sustained Dialogue program, hosts a weekly dinner discussion group in a safe and supportive environment where participants can feel free to discuss the complexities of and have constructive conversations about the intersection and complexity of race and class. This dinner is free for Sustained Dialogue participants.
Women of Color Luncheon Series
The Women of Color Luncheon Series, in partnership with the University's Women’s Center, is a program that brings together women of color (those who may identify as Asian, black/African, Latino, Native, and/or Middle Eastern) and others to foster a greater sense of community. Serving as a resource group that is inclusive of undergraduate and graduate students, faculty and staff, members create a support network to encourage each other's academic and professional success and personal growth.
Queering the Color Line
Queering the Color Line is a monthly dinner conversation with gay and straight allies. All faculty, staff and students are welcome. This event is co-sponsored with Frist Campus Center, LGBT Center and the Women’s Center.
