A s a Lecturer in French since 2008, Rachel Hart has taught numerous language courses at all levels, including Beginner’s, Intermediate and Advanced French and introductory literary classes. She has also served as Head of Course for a range of these courses and has been delighted to take part in the Aix-en-Provence Summer Study Abroad Program. Her teaching and research interests include working to create curricula and classroom resources highlighting the literacy approach; supporting Graduate Assistants in Instruction in developing classroom materials related to their own research interests; and continuing to contribute to Study Abroad programs. She is particularly interested in exploring the role of stereotypes in the language learning classroom. Her literary research projects include a study of representations of thresholds in nineteenth-century French fantastic tales, including works by Auguste Villiers de l’Isle-Adam, Guy de Maupassant, and Jules Verne.
