French & Italian

B.A. in French, English, and Linguistics (2000) at the University of Florida; M.A. in French Language and Literature at the University of Florida (2003); and an M.A. in French at Princeton University (2005). She is also in the process of completing a doctorate at Princeton with a thesis on the theme of the threshold in 19^th century contes fantastiques. 

 

 

19^th century French literature, particularly prose and contes et romans fantastiques, including authors such as Villiers, Jules Verne, Maupassant and Barbey d’Aurevilly. 

 

 

Rachel Hart spent the 2006-2007 and 2007-2008 academic years in Paris at the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris and the UF Paris Research Center at Columbia’s Reid Hall. During her time at Princeton, she has taught numerous classes; has been a Fellow at Mathey College; and has been active in a number of departmental groups, including French Language tables and the Undergraduate Mentoring Program. Rachel Hart also has experience in translating articles for academic publications in a variety of fields. She expects to teach FRE 102-7 and FRE 102 in the Spring of 2009.
