Ezra Suleiman is the IBM Professor of International Studies at Princeton University. He was the founding director of Princeton Program in European Politics and Society and is director of the Center for French Studies. After completing his secondary education in England he received his A.B. degree in Economics from Harvard University and his MA and Ph.D. degrees in political science from Columbia University. He also did graduate work at the University of Paris and the University of London.

A specialist on European politics Mr. Suleiman has written more than ten books about French and European politics, as well as books on policy-making and democratic governance. His most recent books are Schizophrenie Française (Grasset), and Dismantling Democratic States (Princeton University Press), which was published in France as Le démantèlement de l’Etat démocratique (Editions du Seuil). He also has had numerous articles published in academic journals, as well as being a contrinutor to the mass-audience press, including Time Magazine, The Los Angeles Times, Le Point, The Wall Street Journal, Le Nouvel Observateur and Libération. For many years, he was a contributing columnist to Le Figaro.

Ezra Suleiman has worked with UNESCO and with the OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development). He is also a member of Council on Foreign Relations in New York. He sits on the Boards of AXA, SUEZ Environnement, and of AXA Equitable (New York). He is president of the Conseil d’Orientation of the Institut Montaigne and a member of the International Advisory Board of HEC. He serves as president of the Scientific Board of the AXA Research Fund. He developed and ran for many years the French-American Foundation’s Young leaders program.

Ezra Suleiman was made Chevalier of the Legion of Honor in 2003.
