14. The Princeton-Yale Game Increases in Intensity
Phyllis Kluger s’56 (1983)

Sporting events tend to begin somewhat tentatively, but as the minutes tick away, adrenaline rises and fury builds. This abstract quilt, in old-school colors, depicts the course of a football game between venerable rivals, their formerly positioned ranks on the outer edges giving way to a violent collision of masses at the center. Princeton, incidentally, won the game.

This thematic quilt was generously donated by the quiltmaker, Phyllis Kluger s’56 and husband, Dick Kluger ’56.
