The Princeton Alumni Association of Washington, DC held a reception and “smoker” for President-elect Woodrow Wilson ’1879 on the evening before his inauguration. Upon receiving news of Wilson’s victory on Election Day, celebrating students had thronged the grounds of his Princeton home on Cleveland Lane, where the candidate had been awaiting the returns.
