Scientific Director, Sciences Po Médialab, Paris
Bruno Latour created the Sciences Po Médialab, a social sciences laboratory that uses the Internet for the study and development of digital humanities research, in 2009. Previously, he was the vice president for research at Sciences Po and, for many years, a professor at the Centre de Sociologie de l’Innovation at the École Nationale Supérieure des Mines in Paris. He has written extensively on science and society, and his most recent book is An Inquiry into Modes of Existence. It explores and proposes a new description of what is meant by the phrase “to modernize” and includes an online component through which readers can participate in the project. He is a recipient of the Holberg Memorial Prize, the Siegfried Unseld Prize, and the Medal of Honor from the Institute of Advanced Studies at the University of Bologna.
