Professor Blair Schoene named recipient of the 2013 F. W. Clarke Award

Professor Blair Schoene

The Department of Geosciences congratulates Professor Blair Schoene for receiving the 2013 F.W. Clarke award from the Geochemical Society.

Professor Schoene was nominated for his multi-faceted body of work that assisted in the development of improved accuracy and precision in U-Pb geochronology which he then used to define the detailed assembly and deformational history of the ancient crust of South Africa. The Clarke Award recognizes an early-career scientist for a single outstanding contribution to geochemistry or cosmochemistry published either as a single paper or a series of papers on a single topic.

Professor Schoene will receive his award during the next V. M. Goldschmidt Conference in Florence, Italy at the end of August.
