Starting in July, 2011, Dr. Gabrielle B. Dreyfus, a 2008-2009 graduate student of Geosciences Michael Bender's group, accepts a position with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). Gabby, as she prefers to be called, joins the DOE's Office of Policy and International Affairs as an Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) Climate Change Technology Policy Fellow.
Assistant Geosciences Professor Adam Maloof has been awarded an American Geophysics Union James B. Macelwane medal for the year 2011.
Geosciences alumna, Dr. Susan Brantley, *83, and *87, was announced as the winner of the 2011 Arthur L. Day Medal by the Geological Society of America (GSA) in the July 2011 issue of GSA Today.
