Walter Hinderer presented on “Theater As a Political Institution”
Walter Hinderer, Professor of German, participated in an international and interdisciplinary conference in Weimar on the “Tragedy of Modernity”, sponsored by the Klassik Stiftung Weimar from September 24 to 27, 2008. Hinderer presented, as a prelude to another anniversary of the German playwright, an evening lecture on “The Antique Tragedy as a Challenge : Schiller’s Braut von Messina”. On February 2nd, 2009, after the official opening of the Schiller year in Marbach, he spoke on the “Theater as a Political Institution”.
