About GID

LABORATORY MODEL

The GID research group operates with a "laboratory" model in the sense that several students and some faculty will work with the principal investigator to tackle a set of core research questions. Students work as research assistants, independent researchers, and as collaborators. Collaborative projects with American and foreign scholars and research organizations are underway, and additional projects are in planning stages. Members of the research group in residence at Princeton meet on a regular basis to discuss progress and to review research findings.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT

Over the years, various generous funders have supported Evan Lieberman's research on the politics of HIV/AIDS, including the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Yale's Center for International Research on HIV/AIDS (CIRA)/National Institutes of Mental Health (NIMH), and various centers at Princeton University including the Bobst Center, the Center for Health and Wellbeing and the Woodrow Wilson School.

Currently, research involving undergraduate and graduate field research in Africa is supported by the Decker Fund, and the Grand Challenges Initiative at Princeton University, under Professor Christina Paxson's grant for infectious disease. Other projects from that grant can be viewed here.
