(More about event)Cathy Caruth is Frank H. T. Rhodes Professor of Humane Letters at Cornell University, where she teaches in English and Comparative Literature. She is the author of "Empirical Truths and Critical Fictions: Locke, Wordsworth, Kant, Freud" and "Unclaimed Experience: Trauma, Narrative and History". She has co-edited, with Deborah Esch, "Critical Encounters: Reference and Responsibility in Deconstructive Writing and edited Trauma: Explorations in Memory." Her forthcoming book is entitled "Literature in the Ashes of History".
