Professor Rouse is a cultural anthropologist whose research and field work focuses on: medicine, religion, development, and education. We hope to gain Professor Rouse's insight into the institution of medicine and how individuals are affected within the United States. This semester she teaches AAS 403/ANT 403: Race and Medicine and ANT 314: Anthropology of Development. Among many works, she is the author of Uncertain Suffering: Racial Health Care Disparities and Sickle Cell Disease (2009).
