Diversity Fellows Program
The Graduate School Office of Academic Affairs & Diversity seeks enthusiastic and energetic graduate students to serve as Diversity Fellows. The Diversity Fellows will support the Office of the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and Diversity in achieving its goals of diversifying those individuals who desire to pursue graduate studies at Princeton University.
The primary role of the Diversity Fellows will be to establish and maintain an open line of communication with prospective students who have expressed an interest in attending Princeton’s Graduate School. In addition, the Diversity Fellows will assist the Associate Dean of Affairs and Diversity in fostering a stronger sense of community particularly among historically under-represented groups within the Graduate School. Fellows will report to the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and Diversity and are expected to work between 5-10 hours per week during the academic year. The main duties and responsibilities include:
Producing and preparing newsletters and publications for the office
Planning and organizing logistical details for conferences and hosting visits
Coordinating recruitment and on-campus special events
Although each fellow will be assigned to specified tasks within the office, it is expected that each fellow will complete general administrative tasks as needed, attend staff meetings, and hold regular office hours.
Diversity Fellows should be graduate students in good academic standing. S/he will have a strong commitment to diversity at Princeton and be well versed in the traditions and culture of Princeton. S/he will be knowledgeable about student and academic life at Princeton’s Graduate School. S/he will also be flexible, able to work effectively with individuals as well as work autonomously. Knowledge of Microsoft Office strongly preferred and web and graphic design experience is a plus.
