Wesley L. Harris Society
The Wesley L. Harris Scientific Society is a student organization named in honor of the first African-American to receive a Ph.D. from the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Princeton University. One of the missions of the Wesley L. Harris Scientific Society is to create a supportive and interdisciplinary community for minority engineers and scientists. Our organization is the only forum at Princeton University that explicitly serves this purpose for underrepresented graduate students in the STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields. By utilizing research conferences, academic seminar series, and social outings we look to provide a nurturing environment for individuals to thrive as graduate students and researchers.
