SPAM-Turkey 5k Run for Charity
Are you looking for that good excuse to eat some SPAM-Turkey this Thanksgiving? Would you like to help support the Lance Armstrong LiveStrong Foundation? Well then this race is just for you! This is a very low-key 5k road race where you get to subtract a minute from your time for every slice of SPAM that you eat along the way. Prizes will be given for best overall time, best SPAM-adjusted time and most SPAM eaten overall. There is no cost for the race but we will be collecting (and encouraging) donations to the LiveStong foundation. The Lance Armstrong Foundation provides support and resources for the 28 million people around the world affected by cancer. Of the $ 37 M the LiveStrong foundation was able to fundraise in the year 2009, $ 31.2 M (81 %) went to help run these programs and fund cancer research. The race will start and end at the Butler community room building near the Butler graduate apartments bus stop. Pre-registration is not required, but is appreciated so that we can be sure to have enough SPAM for everyone.
Contact Brian at brellis@princeton.edu for more information and to sign-up. Please also let Brian know if you would require a vegetarian alternative. Sponsored by the Graduate School.
