Reservation Guidelines
All Graduate College facilities - Procter Hall, the Old and New GC Common Rooms, the Breakfast Rooms, the Van Dyke Library as well as the outdoor areas - are normally available exclusively for the use of residents and for activities sponsored by the Graduate School or GC House Committee.
Exceptions are made only when they are clearly in the interest of the Graduate School, the Graduate College, and the residents: e.g. for functions sponsored by the Council of International Graduate Students or the Association of Princeton Graduate Alumni and for appropriate University functions.
The Facilities are not available for private occasions sponsored by non-graduate students. Registered graduate students may apply for the use of Graduate College facilities, but such requests are rarely granted, and only when the Graduate School is assured that the residents in general will not be inconvenienced.
No activities can be scheduled during the three General Examination Periods.
Procedure
Requests for the use of Procter Hall and the outdoor areas should be directed to the Community Programs Coordinator at least two weeks in advance.
- Requests for the use of the Breakfast Room, New Common Room, Van Dyke Library or Old GC Social Lounge should be directed, at least one week in advance, to the Graduate School. Depending on the type of event, restrictions may apply (e.g. Public Safety, posting notices, etc.). Please also be aware that food and drink are not allowed in Van Dyke Library.
- To avoid possible conflicts, even routine scheduling of normal activities should include consulting the various appropriate calendars: University, Graduate School, Graduate College Dining Services, and House Committee.
- At any functions where food is served, Graduate College Dining Services must be used (for inquiries contact Paul Dylik). No outside caterers are allowed.
- Parking for functions at the College is restricted to Lot 19. Cars may not be parked at the circles at the front entrances to the College or Wyman House. At the discretion of the Office of the Dean of the Graduate School, Public Safety officers may be assigned for safety.
If you have any additional questions, please contact the Office of the Dean of the Graduate School.
