United Against Infectious Disease World TB Day Dinner and Discussion, Erik Sorensen
Speaker: Erik Sorensen, professor, Chemistry -- The student organization, UAID (United Against Infectious Disease) will be hosting a dinner and discussion event this Thursday, March 24 at 6 PM for World TB Day. Tuberculosis continues to cause a devastating death toll globally. A third of the global population is infected with the TB bacillus and tuberculosis is among the top three causes of death in young women. This disease remains particularly threatening due to the vulnerability of the bacteria causing TB to drug resistance. Professor Erik J. Sorensen (Chemistry) will be discussing aspects of his work on TB drug resistance and the next generation of therapeutics to treat this disease. Please come out and learn more about this important global health issue. Contact Elizabeth Sajewski (sajewski@princeton.edu) or James Williams (jhwillia@princeton.edu) with any questions.
