Tips for Staying Healthy

Know Your Numbers.
• Stop smoking.
• Consult your personal health care provider.
• Check your blood pressure regularly.
• Take your medications as directed, even if you’re feeling fine.
• Maintain a healthy weight and monitor your waist curcumference.
• Exercise regularly.
• Practice stress management and relaxation.
• Practice good nutrition including:
-Limit your sodium (salt) intake: Read food labels before you buy a product.
-Increase your fiber intake with whole grains, nuts and beans.
-Decrease white bread, pasta, rice, sweets and soft drinks.
-Limit your dietary saturated fats and cholesterol.
-Eat some protein and healthy fat with each meal. (Slows sugar absorption)
