Health Promotion & Wellness Services at UHS

Professional health educators at Health Promotion and Wellness Services work to advance the personal health of all students, faculty, and staff at Princeton University and contribute to the creation of a healthy campus community that supports informed and healthy decision-making, strengthens community assets, minimizes health disparities, and promotes access to health care services.

A wide range of personal and community health issues are addressed, including nutrition, physical fitness, substance drug abuse, cardiac risk, physical illness, stress, depression and anxiety. Health promotion services include campus-wide wellness and prevention programs for students and employees, information resources in the Janet C. Morgan Health and Wellness Libraryand individual wellness consultations.

Environmental Health & Safety

The Office of Environmental Health and Safety provides technical support, information and training; consultation and periodic audits of environmental, health and safety practices; and regulatory compliance in four broad areas: workplace safety, chemical safety, radiation safety, and biosafety and sanitation.

Health-Related Student Initiatives

If you are interested in health-related issues around campus, or want to explore a healthy lifestyle with others who share your interests, consider getting involved in a student group. By entering keyword “health” in the student group directory, you can explore the various student groups that focus on medical and health topics.

University Health Services coordinates four student peer advising groups including Eating Concerns Peer Advisors, Healthy Mind Advisors, SHARE Peer Advisors (Sexual Harassment and Assault) and Sexual Health Advisors that work to raise awareness, provide education and serve as a resource for students on a wide variety of psychosocial and wellness issues. All peer advisors are trained by medical and psychological experts and are supervised by UHS staff.
