Torah & Secular Learning: Envisioning Orthodoxy for the Postmodern Campus
On the occasion of Yavneh's 50th anniversary, it behooves us to ask what successes and challenges the Orthodox encounter with Ivy League life have engendered? Is the Orthodox community still up to the intellectual challenges of full-blown secular inquiry, and have we succeeded in enriching those inquiries
through our participation in them? What about the continuity of our own community? With reference to the views of thinkers from Rabbi Hirsch to Rav Kook, this talk reflects upon our current predicament.
