Advanced Talmud
With David Wolkenfeld. In this weekly shiur in the first perek of Avodah arah we will explore key halakhic sugyot that are important for navigating our relationships as Jews with the outside world. In addition, we will see key aggadic explorations of the distinctions and commonalities between Jews and various "others." This class is intended for those with prior experience studying Talmud and with some ability to prepare Hebrew texts independently. Ambitious "intermediates" are encouraged to attend and additional help will be provided for them as needed.
