CJL’s 2012 Fellowship in Jewish Philanthropy participants donate $5480
During the 9 week Fellowship, participants reflected on personal values, studied Jewish sources about giving priorities, and taught each other about worthwhile causes and organizations.
Participants created the follow Mission Statement:
The CJL Philanthropy Fellowship Fund (PFF) is dedicated to human dignity and sustainability of the planet and its inhabitants. We support Jewish organizations that work towards long-term poverty relief, health care accessibility, and environmental protection. In deciding how to allocate our funds. We consider the measurable impact, number of beneficiaries, and past success. We value creative, compassionate, and ethical approaches. We draw upon the wealth of Jewish teachings and personal experiences to guide our decisions.
Participants allocated funds to the following organizations:
Save a Child’s Heart (SACH); Hadassah Hospital; Yad Eliezer: Big Brothers Big Sisters and Job Training; Jewish National Fund (JNF): Israel’s Water Crisis, and American Jewish World Service.
