Latke/Hamentaschen Debate
Come to the Latke Hamentash Debate! This is an annual event that brings us together over everyone's favorite thing: FREE FOOD!!
The debate invites professors and students alike to gather in order to debate the merits of two traditional Jewish foods: the latke, a potato pancake eaten on Hanukkah, and the hamentash, a jelly-filled triangular pastry eaten on Purim.
Debaters use the most rigorous academic arguments, derived from their... field of study, to debate the superiority of one of these foods over the other, proving both hilarious and insightful. And who can beat the FREE, delicious latkes and hamentash provided at the end of the debate, so that attendees can decide for themselves which they like better!?
KOLEINU, Princeton's only Jewish a capella group, will serenade us as the judges come to their conclusion.
AND attendees will be entered into a raffle to win a sweatshirt with "Princeton" written in Hebrew on it.
Debaters:
Dean Alison Boden and Alexis Kleinman '12 debating for the side of hamentashen
Professor Alan Mann and Ben Jubas '14 debating for the side of latkes
Moderator: Jacob Loewenstein '11
Judges: Zach Liebmann '11, Kerry Brodie '12, Rebecca Kaufman '11, Kenny Anhalt '14
