Profile
Katherine Keirns is currently working on a larger project about the history of conservation and environmentalism within the US military from the birth of American empire through Vietnam. She received a MA in Environmental History in 2011 from Rutgers University and the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Her masters thesis was about the relationship between the Hudson River School of art and military surveying at West Point during the Jacksonian era. She also received a BA in History and Geology in 2009 from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill.
