Sean H. Vanatta
Sean Vanatta studies the development of United States capitalism, with a particular interest in financial intermediation and regulatory policy. He received an MA in history from the University of Georgia, where he also received a BBA in marketing and BA in history.
Sean’s current research focuses on the bank credit card industry, examining changes in federal and state regulation, geographies of banking and consumer credit, and the place of debt in popular politics and popular culture. He is also interested in credit card technology and incorporating the history of US banking into a global context.
