Professional Development Workshop 2/13/08
Graduate students and faculty invited
Academic Habits
For this workshop, senior faculty members have been invited to share their experience with and ideas about life as academics and as historians. The session is envisioned as a two-part conversation in which panelists first speak about a specific topic and then engage in a more far-reaching discussion about strategies and tactics they have developed, used, or abandoned in their work and over their scholarly lives to this point.
Professors Barbara Oberg, Julian Zelizer, and John Haldon will speak about ways in which to keep current in the literature of oneÃÂÃÂÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂs field and in general, their approaches to research and writing, their changing ideas about the practicalities of note-taking and organization, and the theoretics and methodology behind generating historical questions.
