Centers

Nowhere is the multidisciplinary scholarship of the Department more apparent than in our Centers and Programs. The Program in History of Science brings together science, medicine, and technology in historical and cultural context. The Shelby Cullom Davis Center, named for Shelby Cullom Davis ‘30, ensures continued excellence in scholarship and teaching through professorships, fellowships, weekly seminars, and prizes awarded for senior thesis research. The special activities funding arm of the History Department is the Center for Collaborative History. It provides support for research projects, conferences, and symposia organized by department members, and it coordinates collaborative projects with other academic institutions.
