Letter Collection Service
For Princeton students and alumni who choose not to participate in the composite letter process, who are not eligible for a composite letter, or who miss the stated deadlines, HPA will collect individual letters of recommendation on their behalf, and send a packet of the individual letters out to schools with a brief cover letter. There are no deadlines or other criteria required for individual letter collection, though we ask students using this service to release their application information to Princeton pre-health advisors for data collection purposes. Please be aware that many schools (especially allopathic medical schools) will see it as a ‘red flag’ if the applicant does not receive a composite letter for reasons other than not completing the requisite course work (or completing the courses long ago) to be eligible for a composite letter.
For allopathic (MD) schools, letter packets are sent through the AMCAS letter writer service – you need only designate that you’re receiving a letter packet, and do not include each individual letter writer separately.
