One-Year Paid Internship at Monmouth Family Health Center

Job Description: The Monmouth Family Health Center (MFHC) is a non-profit community health clinic in Long Branch, NJ. MFHC provides high quality, comprehensive, affordable, culturally sensitive and linguistically appropriate primary and preventative health care services to the residents of Long Branch and the surrounding communities. There are four different sites that focus on primary care, pediatrics, dental surgery and women’s health.
The intern will be involved with implementing electronic health records system at the center, and thus will have opportunities to learn about healthcare information technology and reform. Other responsibilities include maintaining and updating the MFHC website, designing promotional materials, scanning patient charts and importing lab results and assisting with outside projects as necessary. Projects related to special interests of the intern can also be considered.
The intern will participate in weekly upper management meetings that include the center’s executive director and other senior staff members. He or she will have opportunities for interactions with administrative and clinical staff (including physician shadowing), as well as exposure to an underserved patient population. This position offers great learning experiences for individuals interested in medicine, healthcare delivery, public health, or non-profit and healthcare administration.
