Vacancy Management Review
The University established the Vacancy Management Review Policy in response to current economic pressures, effective January 21, 2009. The Vacancy Review Process provides a method to identify all HR and non-faculty DoF job vacancies that are critical to Princeton's core mission. Job vacancies included in the review are all new and recurring regular positions and all new and renewed term positions.
As described in the memo from the Dean of the Faculty and the Vice President for Human Resources as well as the policy, all affected HR and non-faculty DoF vacancies require advance from a Review Committee composed of the provost, the executive vice president, the vice president for finance and treasurer and the vice president for human resources to be posted and filled. Hiring managers must complete the Vacancy Management Review Form to obtain authorization to post new positions.
In situations where the vacancy is not approved for posting, the home department may need to realign its work and/or reevaluate its priorities. Individuals in the Office of Human Resources and the Office of the Dean of the Faculty are available to work with departments to think through the work and staffing needs.
