2010 Benefits Open Enrollment Period Has Ended

Our 2010 Benefits Open Enrollment Period ended on Friday, October 30. You will have one final opportunity to make changes to your 2010 benefits elections during the confirmation period from Wednesday, November 18, through Friday, December 4, 2009.

If your dependent is currently covered on Princeton’s healthcare plan and you want to continue coverage in 2010, you must complete the dependent eligibility verification process no later than the deadline, which was recently extended to December 4, 2009.

After December 4, dependents for whom Human Resources does not have verification will be removed from the Princeton health care plans effective December 31, 2009.

To verify your dependent’s eligibility status, you must provide specific documentation to a member of the Benefits Team. Definitions of eligible and ineligible dependents and a list of the types of documentation required appear on our website at www.princeton.edu/hr/benefits/elig/dep.

The dependent eligibility verification process is being conducted by the Office of Human Resources at the request of the University’s Benefits Committee as a cost–savings measure to enable Princeton to continue to provide optimum benefits for minimum cost and meet federal compliance regulations.

After providing the documentation to Human Resources, you can verify in HR Self Service that your dependent verification documentation has been processed. To do so:

• Log into HR Self Service at www.princeton.edu/selfservice.
• Select Self Service, Benefits and Dependent/Beneficiary Info.
• Locate the "Dep. Cert" checkbox in the column next to "Date of Birth" for each dependent.
• The checkbox will be checked when your dependent’s data is up-to-date and eligibility for coverage has been verified.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Benefits Team at (609) 258-3302 or at benefits@princeton.edu.
