2012 Annual Benefits Open Enrollment Period Ends Friday, November 18

The deadline to submit your benefits enrollment changes online is midnight, Friday, November 18, with assistance from Human Resources staff members available until 5 p.m. There is no Confirmation Period this year to make any changes to your coverage after November 18, 2011, unless you experience a qualifying event.

HR staff members will be available in the HR Training Room, 7 New South, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., during the last three days of the annual Benefits Open Enrollment Period — Wednesday, November 16; Thursday, November 17; and Friday, November 18 — to answer your benefits questions and assist you with eBenefits.

Reviewing Your Coverage

To review your benefit elections, log in to HR Self Service. Once logged in, you can view your current elections for 2011 by selecting Self Service from the side menu and then clicking on Benefits Summary under the Benefits menu.

To review your 2012 Open Enrollment elections, change the current date to 01/01/2012 and click on Go. Since there is no Confirmation Period, it is important that you review your benefits for 2012 by November 18 to ensure that your elections are correct.

New IRS Limits for the Parking and Transit Reimbursement Accounts

Beginning effective January 1, 2012, the monthly pretax contribution limit for the Parking Reimbursement Account will increase from $230 to $240 per month and the monthly pretax contribution limit for the Transit Reimbursement Account will decrease from $230 to $125 per month. You may change your election amount during the Open Enrollment period.

If you are currently contributing more than $125 each month to the Transit Reimbursement Account and do not change your election amount during Open Enrollment, we will automatically reduce your monthly election amount to $125 beginning January 1, 2012.

New IRS Limits for the Retirement Savings Plan

The new contribution maximums for the Retirement Savings Plan for 2012 are as follows:

  • Under Age 50: $ 17,000
  • Over Age 50: $ 22,500

You may elect these new maximums during the Open Enrollment period.

Important Reminders

If would like to participate in either the Health Benefit Expense Account or the Dependent Care Expense Account programs in 2012, you must elect to enroll and include an annual election amount. Elections in the expense account plans do not automatically carry over from the previous calendar year. Each year, you need to make a new election for the next calendar year.

If you would like to increase your supplemental life insurance election, you will be required to provide Evidence of Insurability (EOI). In addition, all elections or increases in the Spousal Life Insurance Plan will require your spouse to complete and return the EOI application to Prudential for processing.

Time is running out! Friday, November 18 is your final day to elect your 2012 benefits!
