Human Resources is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive benefits
program which is responsive to the needs of a diverse staff. Princeton's comprehensive
benefits program includes health and life insurance coverage, pension benefits, flexible
spending accounts, income protection in the event of short and long-term disabilities, and
benefits for employee education and children's tuition grants and loans.

A
Benefits Eligible Employee is defined as a biweekly
or monthly paid staff, that fill approved budgeted positions
on the regular payroll and who work on a half-time or greater
basis, 50% or more of the normal work week schedule (36 1/2
or 40 hours, depending on the position) for 5 months or
more, or a Post Doctoral Research Fellow
regardless of duty time.

Eligible dependents include legal
spouse; same sex domestic partner; unmarried dependent children
(click here for definition); unmarried
children of any age who are physically or mentally challenged
and became disabled before the end of the calendar year in which
they turn 25.

You
are able to make changes to your medical, dental or vision care plan once a
year during Open Enrollment.

You may add
an eligible dependent to your plan or enroll or terminate your
participation in an existing plan within 31 days of a
Qualifying
Status Event. In the case of a birth or adoption of a child, you
will have 90 days from the date of the event.
You must notify the
Office of Human Resources and request a personalized Benefit
Enrollment Form. Proof of the Qualifying Family Status event must be
provided to Human Resources. Please refer to your Benefits Handbook for
specific information regarding your specific plan(s).
While the University intends to
continue each of the benefit plans, the University reserves the right to terminate or amend any plan, at
any time, and for any reason.
