Parking & Transit Reimbursement Accounts

If you pay for parking or using mass transit associated with your commutation to work, you are able to contribute money from your paycheck into an account to use to reimburse yourself for these commuting expenses. You pay no federal taxes on your contributions.

You can set up one or two reimbursement accounts — one for parking expenses and one for transit expenses.

Did you know?

Princeton University employees who commute to campus by mass transit may be eligible to receive a 50% subsidy on monthly transit passes. Refer to the Transportation and Parking Services website for additional information on this subsidy program and for other cost-saving initiatives as part of the Transportation Demand Management (TDM) Program.

Princeton also has expense reimbursement accounts for health care and dependent care.
