Vacation & Other University Benefits & Information
Staff members will receive a payment for accrued but unused vacation days up to a maximum of thirty days.
For faculty members, time for vacation is incorporated and included within the normal academic year schedule. Please contact the Office of the Dean of the Faculty for more information.
University ID Card
You and your eligible dependents may continue to hold a PUID card. Each year you must contact the TigerCard Office to arrange for a new validation sticker for the card. You can call or e-mail the TigerCard Office at 258-8300 or visit the website for additional information.
Mortgage Loan Program
This program is administered by the Office of Real Estate Finance, which you can call directly at 258-3123 for information.
You remain eligible for a University parking permit. You should make arrangements directly with the Office of Transportation and Parking Services at 258-3157.
The Princeton Bulletin will continue to be mailed to you at your home address. If you do not wish to continue receiving this publication, please e-mail Human Resources and include your name and address.
Social Security Benefits & Medicare
You may be eligible to begin receiving a Social Security benefit at age 62. You should contact the Social Security Administration at (800) 772-1213 to verify your earnings record, receive a personalized benefit calculation, obtain information about Medicare, or obtain the address and hours of your nearest Social Security office.
Change of Address
If you should move, please e-mail Human Resources and include your name, old and new address and telephone number.
This information will also enable you to continue to receive the Princeton Bulletin. You must notify TIAA-CREF and Vanguard directly in writing of any address changes.
E-mail Address & Personal Documents
As a retiree you may have all e-mail sent to your Princeton University e-mail address forwarded to an alternate personal e-mail address of your choosing.
To enable e-mail forwarding, please:
- Select and set up an e-mail account with an Internet Service Provider (ISP), such as AOL, G-mail, Verizon.
- Link to the OIT Web page to set up forwarding within 90 days from your retirement date.
Forwarded e-mail will not be retained on any University system; it will simply be forwarded to your new e-mail address.
If you want to retain any personal documents you currently have in your University file space, including e-mail files, please use the Digital Suitcase application to pack up all of your personal documents as well as your contact lists within 90 days of your retirement date.
After 90 days, your University account will be closed and currently stored e-mail and personal files will no longer be available.
Your Princeton netID/password combination will continue to provide access to the HR Self Service application.
