ECCAP Award Information & Deadlines

Deadlines to Submit Your Application

The FY2018 applications are available online through HR Self Service for the Employee Child Care Assistance Program (ECCAP). Although ECCAP applications are accepted throughout the year, in order to receive the maximum eligible award, applications must be completed and submitted online by May 19, 2017.  Applications are considered complete when all required documentation is received.  Awards for eligible applications submitted after the deadline will be prorated.

The ECCAP provides financial assistance to eligible faculty and staff members to help meet the cost of child care for prekindergarten-aged children. Eligibility rules and the amount of the awards are determined by the Princeton Child Care Assistance Committee and are based on household income. The awards can be used to pay for a wide range of possible child care arrangements from in-home care to licensed day care centers.
The maximum award for one child is up to $5,000 per year; you may receive an additional award for a second eligible child. If both you and your spouse or partner, are employed by the University, only one award is provided per child. ECCAP awards are considered additional income by the IRS and may be subject to state and federal taxes.

If you are expecting or adopting a new child after the May deadline, you must submit your application no later than 90 days from the date of birth or adoption. Your award will be prorated based upon both the date the application and all supporting documentation are received by HR. Please do not apply prior to the child’s arrival. Your application, if received prior to the birth or adoption, will be returned to you.
