ECCAP Award Information & Deadlines

Complete the application online through HR Self Service for the Employee Child Care Assistance Program (ECCAP). The ECCAP begins July 1st each year and ends June 30th of the following year. Each year, if your child is still eligible you must reapply for the award by June 15th. ECCAP applications are accepted throughout the year but your award will be pro-rated on the month in which you complete an application. Applications are considered complete when all required documentation is received.  Information submitted is confidential and will only be used to determine your award amount.

The ECCAP provides financial assistance to eligible faculty and staff members to help meet the cost of child care for prekindergarten-aged children. Eligibility rules and the amount of the awards are determined by the Princeton Child Care Assistance Committee and are based on household income. The awards can be used to pay for a wide range of possible child care arrangements from in-home care to licensed day care centers.
The maximum award for one child is up to $5,000 per year; you may receive an additional award for a second eligible child. If both you and your spouse or partner, are employed by the University, only one award is provided per child. ECCAP awards are considered additional income by the IRS and may be subject to state and federal taxes.
ECCAP awards are based on annual adjusted gross household income.
