Vacancy Management Review

The Vacancy Management Review Policy, activated on January 21, 2009, in response to current economic pressures, ended on February 2, 2010.

The Vacancy Review Process provided a method to identify all HR and non-faculty DoF job vacancies that are critical to Princeton's core mission. Job vacancies included in the review were all new and recurring regular positions and all new and renewed term positions.

As described in the memo from the Dean of the Faculty and the Vice President for Human Resources as well as the policy, all affected HR and non-faculty DoF vacancies had required advance approval from a Review Committee composed of the provost, the executive vice president, the vice president for finance and treasurer and the vice president for human resources to be posted and filled. Hiring managers completed the Vacancy Management Review Form to obtain authorization to post new positions.

In situations where the vacancy was not approved for posting, the home department may have realigned its work and/or reevaluated its priorities. Individuals in the Office of Human Resources and the Office of the Dean of the Faculty continue to be available to work with departments to think through the work and staffing needs.
