Retirees

The annual Benefits Open enrollment offers you an opportunity to review your current benefits and consider changes to your coverage which will become effective January 1, 2010. Please be sure to review your Open Enrollment materials carefully before you make your final benefits decisions for 2010. Follow the applicable link at the right for detailed information regarding the retiree plans available for your age group.

As of January 1, 2010, the new Mental Health Parity Act will impact all health plans. This means that mental health/substance abuse services will not have treatment and visitation limitations, and coinsurance and copayments will be aligned with medical/surgical services. The health plans will still apply utilization review standards and make medical necessity determinations for both medical/surgical and mental health/substance abuse benefits. 

Important Note: If you waive your participation in the retiree medical plan for yourself or your eligible dependents, you will be unable to elect coverage at a later date.
 
While the University intends to continue each of the benefit plans, the University reserves the right to terminate or amend any plan, at any time, and for any reason.
