University Process for Reviewing Medical Services or Treatment
It is in the University’s best interest to provide its employees with access to high quality medical services and treatment. An employee, who is uncomfortable with the choice of consulting physician or treatment plan, may contact the Office of Employee Health, which will make every reasonable effort to arrange for a second opinion.
 
The University, however, retains the right to select the consultant from a panel of approved providers. The Office of Employee Health also may arrange for an Independent Medical Examination or Functional Capacity Examination.

Right of Appeal
Appeals relating to any provision of the Workers’ Compensation Law may be accomplished by filing a claim petition for compensation with the New Jersey Division of Workers’ Compensation in Trenton, NJ. Employees who have questions regarding the appeals and petition process should contact the Office of Risk Management or seek the services of an attorney.
