Policy Description

It is the responsibility of University supervisors to assure that federal and state laws and University policies which regulate the termination of employees are carefully observed. In addition, the terminating employee's keys, library books, 0.1identification card (except for retiring employees) and other University property must be returned to the University.

Application of This Policy

Voluntary and Involuntary Terminations
Terminations may be either voluntary or involuntary.
Involuntary terminations may include layoff due to lack of funds, lack of work, or reorganization; discharge for unsatisfactory performance; or discharge for misconduct.
