Policy Description

Nonprobationary employees terminating from the University are paid for unused accrued vacation up to a maximum of 30 days. Terminating employees are not compensated for unused sick days or personal days. Employees participating in the Paid Time Off program are compensated within its guidelines.

Procedure

It is the supervisor’s responsibility to ensure the accuracy of time records of terminating employees and for forwarding the completed Termination/Retirement Form to the Office of Human Resources (see 3.1.8 Vacation) .
