John Martin

John Martin, senior human resources manager, is responsible for providing HR services and capabilities to a wide array of clients, including the Department of Athletics, Office of Development, Office of Human Resources, Department of Molecular Biology, Office of Information Technology and the Woodrow Wilson School and related departments. John works with managers and staff on employee relations, performance management, organizational development and other HR initiatives. He manages a variety of HR projects that benefit the campus community and partners with his colleagues to create and improve University and HR processes and effectiveness overall. 

Before coming to Princeton, John spent 20 years in corporate HR, mostly in financial services and retail industries. He worked at Monmouth University for six years in student life administration and at the Tropicana Hotel/Casino in Atlantic City in the training department.
 

John recently developed a fondness for participating in half-marathons and biking and running in duathlons. He also volunteers his time at his church as the coordinator of a job transition network for the parish and at Celtic Charms, a therapeutic horseback riding center for individuals with disabilities.
