Time Off Benefits
Many employees must balance both work and family responsibilities, and Princeton University believes that adequate and flexible leave policies assist employees in meeting these dual obligations.
Except for emergencies, employees are expected to provide advance notice of time off to allow for their supervisors' review and approval.
Leave policies, which are listed below, include Time Off With Pay and Time Off Without Pay.
Time Off Benefits with Pay
Time off benefits with pay include the following:
- holidays
- vacation
- sick days
- personal days
- death in the family
- jury duty and court appearances
- military reserve training
- short term disability and workers’ compensation leaves
Time Off Benefits without Pay
Time off benefits without pay include the following:
- family and medical
- personal leave
- military (extended service)
- religious observances
Employees who are members of a union should refer to their respective collective bargaining agreements for more information.
