Usha Patlolla
Lead Developer, Office of Information Technology, Administrative Information Systems
Usha Patlolla has been a University staff member since 1997 when she was hired as a programmer/analyst. She is currently a lead developer in the Office of Information Technology (OIT)'s Administrative Information Systems. As a member of the Custom Development, Data Warehousing & Integration Team within OIT, Usha supports in-house technology and custom applications. She is responsible for updating system rules, making enhancements and day-to-day support of systems, such as Time Collection.
Although she spends the majority of her days troubleshooting and using her technical skills, Usha makes time to participate in classes from HR’s Learning and Development curriculum in order to gain new knowledge. She states, “I want to be well rounded, so I am constantly learning.” She also takes training courses offered by OIT in order to stay up-to-date on new software applications.
Usha uses her technical expertise and experience to assist the South Asian Affinity Group (SAAG), an Employee Resource Group supported by the Office of Human Resources. After the group was formed in 2008, Usha was instrumental in the creation of a Listserv to enable SAAG members to communicate with one other.
