Lance Herrington

Senior Editor and Producer, Office of Information Technology, Broadcast Center

Lance Herrington, senior editor and producer in the Office of Information Technology’s Broadcast Center, is the epitome of creativity. A staff member at Princeton since 2002, he works hard to learn and master tools for creating videos, audio and animations. Lance collaborates with departments and individuals throughout Princeton’s campus as he learns about their vision and ideas. He then fuses the clients' desires with his artistic creativity and innovative visual effects to make the projects come alive. Lance explains, “People put their ideas in my hands, and I work to realize those ideas.”

In 2008, the University opened the Broadcast Center, which is housed inside the new Lewis Library. The Center features several robotic cameras, an interview room, video control room and the latest digital, high-definition technology. Lance produces several shows that broadcast on Princeton’s television network, including the International Forum by May Cheng and InnerCore.

Annually, Lance produces the service recognition video that features employees honored for attaining service milestones and receiving the President’s Achievement Award and Griffin Management Award.

Lance has always had an interest in the multimedia field. He majored in film, animation and video at Rhode Island School of Design. His skills range from creating graphics and animations to composing audio soundtracks and working in all areas of postproduction.  He says, “I like putting materials together and making something of it.”
