Elizabeth Kelly
Admission Assistant, Undergraduate Admission
Elizabeth Kelly, admission assistant in Undergraduate Admission, joined the Princeton staff in 2006
as a full-time staff member, after serving as a temporary filer in the admission office. In her role, Liz oversees, facilitates and tracks the processing of applicant folders. She also works with admission officers to prepare and mail all correspondence regarding decisions, school visits and recruitment events.
Liz’s duties include greeting visitors, handling telephone inquiries from applicants, parents, school personnel and alumni, data entry and filing. Although she has set duties to perform each day, her work is far from routine. Liz can often be found providing impromptu assistance to other staff members. She explains, “We are a team that works together so everyone can meet their goals.”
Along with her colleagues, Liz works on Princeton Preview, a program where newly admitted students arrive on campus to learn about the University’s academic, residential and social offerings. During this busy and
exciting time Liz relishes being on the frontlines where she can interact with the students — many of whom she has spoken to over the phone or ushered their applications through the review process. Liz explains, “I enjoy seeing the looks on students’ faces when they come to Princeton. They are so excited to be here and some have never seen Princeton before.”
In describing Princeton as an employer, Liz says “This is a great place to work because of the people and relationships. I love that I get to be a part of our students’ college story.”
