
Audio/Video Editing and Scriptwriting

The HRC has software that can help faculty with audio editing and creation, video editing (including adding and creating sub titles for videos), and and even script writing for audio/visual projects on Mac and Window platforms. We have the following software to help with such tasks: iMovie and MovieMaker, MPEGStreamClip, FinalDraft, SubsFactory, Audacity.
Text Encoding, Recognition and TEI
The HRC can provide support and software for working with digital versions of text including the Oxygen XML editor and Optical Character Recognition software including OmniPage, ReadIris, and ABBYY FineReader.
Mapping and Visualization

The HRC can provide support for help with adding visuals to your projects and research. Adding geolocation materials such as maps or map overlays, or even creating a chart to show relationships and interactions can also be done with the folowing software provided at the HRC: Gephi, Google Earth, MapTiler, and The WPGeo WordPress plugin.
The Lab

15 stations are equipped with:
- AOC 22" flat panel monitors (allowing easy switching between viewing sources, computer, VCR, DVD or LD player, and cable TV)
- Sony HS-90 headsets with microphone
- 14 Dell Optiplex 960 computers
- 1 Intel Mac and 2 iMac computers
- 15 Panasonic AG-W3 multistandard VHS players
- 9 Denon DVD region free DVD players
- 5 Pioneer DVL-919 laserdisc/DVD players
- 1 Sony Blu-Ray disc player
The Viewing Room

the viewing room fulfills two functions:
- It allows a small group (up to 6 people) to view videos, DVDs, laserdiscs, and cable TV on a 42" Plasma screen with easy to use controls on a touch pad screen.
- It is equipped with hardware and software for digitizing, capturing stills, image editing, burning CD's/DVD's, and scanning,

1 Epson Perfection 3200 Photo Scanner To reserve a viewing room send e-mail to hrc@princeton.edu or call the HRC at (609)-258-1290. The rooms can be reserved for a period of 2 hours (or more if the film being watched is longer). If the reserved time slot is not claimed during the first 15 minutes the room can be given to others. Preference is given to Language courses and courses using video in their curriculum.
The Classroom

the HRC classroom features:

- Robotel touch screen control unit to interact with instructor at console
- Instructor's console equipped with:
- Panasonic AG-W3 multistandard VHS players
- PhilipsPro DVD 175 region free DVD players
- Pioneer LD-V4400 laserdisc players
- Denon DN-T620 CD/Cassette Combi-Deck
- LCD touch panel for easy control of audiovisual equipment
- Sony VPL-PX32 ceiling mounted video projector
- Wall mounted loud speakers
- Retractable ceiling mounted screen
