| Venice and the Mediterranean: Crete This project developed out of ART330/HLS331: Venice and the Mediterranean, taught by Professor Patricia Fortini Brown in Spring 2007. The course explored the artistic and cultural geography of Venice's Mediterranean empire, known as the stato da mar, from its beginnings in 1204 to the loss of Crete in 1669. |
Mapping the Golden Age of Venice This interactive map encapsulates work done by the students of Art 440, Venice in its Golden Age, Fall 2007. The aim of this interdisciplinary seminar was to explore the art and architecture of Renaissance Venice in the context of its rich cultural heritage and unique political and social system. |

Vocabulary Database The vocabulary database allows language instructors to maintain vocabulary lists online with optional images and audio. The lists can then be used as flashcards or typecards that can be embedded into a Blackboard course. The lists can also be printed. Each list has an RSS feed. |

The Charette Project The internationally recognized Charrette Project, a hypertext archive of the Old French poetry of Chretien de Troyes, was developed for the late Professor Karl Uitti of Romance Languages. Humanities Computing Research Support built a web database, entitled Figura, to allow an international team of scholars to annotate the 7000 line Charrette narrative, which recounts the Arthurian legend of Sir Lancelot, for its rich rhetorical figures |

The Shahnama Project The Shahnama Project is a hypertext archive of the the Persian Shahnama, or "Book of Kings." Based on Firestone's Garrett manuscript collection, the archive presents rich images of folios along with links to a translation of the narrative and an iconographic index of the miniatures contained in the folios. The project was conceived of by the late Professor Jerome Clinton of Near Eastern Studies. |
