HRC Items Renewal Request
Materials borrowed from the HRC may be renewed online by logging into SearchIt. Please note that you can only renew items twice. Each loan period is 10 days (10 days from the renewal request date). To renew items from the libraries please use:
Faculty can place any title in the video collection on reserve. On reserve means the video is available for viewing in the HRC and it does not circulate. Only the person who placed the video on reserve is allowed to remove this title from HRC premises. If another individual is sent to pick up the video, the name has to be sent by e-mail to email@example.com or called in to the circulation desk at 8-1290.
Reserves should be placed through Firestone Library's Online Reserve Request Service (ORRS). Items placed on reserve that are not currently owned by the University will be purchased if necessary.
Other items, including personal video materials for instruction, may be placed on temporary reserve in the HRC. Items may be submitted at the HRC desk.
Video on Demand
Video materials placed on reserve are generally made available to students of the course via Video-On-Demand as well as physical reserve in the HRC. Students registered in these classes may view assigned video materials at any time during the semester through the Blackboard course page in:
- OIT computer clusters in public buildings on campus including Frist Campus Center, Firestone Library, the Graduate College and the Humanities Resource Center in East Pyne.
- all teaching spaces
A complete list and map of buildings on campus in which these streaming files should be accessible can be found here .
NOTE: Materials cannot be viewed on the wireless network and in dorm rooms.
HRC staff will post instructions and links to the assigned films in the Blackboard course page.
