Mindfulness for Undergraduates
Mindfulness skills can help to focus on the present moment. This group will encourage students to learn and practice skills that may prove helpful in managing stress, becoming more aware of situations, and how they react to pleasant and unpleasant experiences. Many times people react from habitual patterns that they learned over the course of life. Cultivating awareness helps a person to recognize habitual patterns and to make wise choices about which coping styles are most helpful. Mindfulness skills help deal with life’s problems in the present, rather than focusing on what was or what might be. A healthy snack will be available after group.
